Size grading
Size grading is a widely used parameter for classifying horticultural and fruit products into commercial categories. It is based primarily on dimensional evaluation, considering diameter and weight. Depending on the crop, one or both of these factors are taken into account.
Different size categories are typically identified using letter-based codes, such as AAA (premium category), AA (second category), and so on, down to E.
Size grading can be automated using specialized machines called calibrators, which detect and separate fruits into different categories.
The use of BioAksxter® enables high performance in size grading, thanks to its ability to rebalance the plant’s overall vegetative state. This optimization allows the plant to concentrate its energy on fruit bud differentiation and the subsequent development of fruit tissues, leading to superior size and quality.
