Powdery mildew
Powdery mildew, also known as "Mal Bianco", is a phytopathology caused by an Ascomycete fungus from the Erysiphaceae family, affecting a wide range of plants, including Solanaceae and grapevines.
This ectoparasitic organism develops its mycelium (the fungal body composed of hyphae) on the surface of infected plant parts such as leaves, shoots, and fruits. The agronomic damage arises from the formation of a whitish, powdery coating, which results from the intertwining of hyphae and the massive release of spores. Over time, this leads to tissue necrosis.
The application of BioAksxter® fertilizer throughout the entire vegetative cycle enhances plant self-defense, simplifying pest control against fungal diseases and other infections. When used preventively, it helps plants better withstand climatic fluctuations and excessive humidity, which are key factors in the development of powdery mildew.
