Maximizing tomato production and quality
A guide for those looking to maximize yield and quality in tomato cultivation.
With BioAksxter®, growing tomatoes becomes easier and more profitable. The rebalancing of both plants and soil enhances productivity and simplifies overcoming challenges that typically affect this crop.
As early as 2000, university trials conducted on various tomato varieties demonstrated a 50% increase in fruit weight, a 77% reduction in blossom-end rot waste, and a 10% increase in lycopene content, a powerful antioxidant with well-known anti-cancer properties.
Thanks to improved self-defense mechanisms, plants treated with BioAksxter® maintain high vegetative and productive capacity throughout the entire cultivation cycle, even in the presence of severe diseases. Many farms that previously produced no more than 4–5 fruit clusters per plant due to nematodes, Fusarium, corky root, or other soil-borne diseases, achieved 12–13 clusters per plant with BioAksxter®, significantly improving yield, fruit size, quality, and shelf life.
Additionally, blossom-end rot damage in susceptible varieties was reduced by half or even eliminated, depending on environmental conditions and cultivation techniques.
- Already one month after transplanting, treated plants appear compact, with regular internodes, strong stems, lush shoot tips, and firm, well-spread leaves.
- The vegetative and productive capacity is at its peak and remains constant, and even when the first clusters are ripening, flowering, fruit setting, and fruit enlargement in the upper clusters continue regularly.
- The leaves remain always elastic, and in general, all tissues are well-hydrated. This is particularly noticeable when removing suckers, which can be done with ease.
- The clusters are distinguished above all by their flavor and high shelf life, they have a regular shape with uniform fruit size, while the tomatoes exhibit more intense coloration, particularly firm pulp, and a sugar content that is 1-1.5° Brix higher.
To achieve the best results, it is important to use BioAksxter® regularly until the end of the cultivation cycle. In particular, the soil preparation treatment and the application at transplanting are crucial for reducing stress and improving root establishment, while subsequent applications are essential to maintain maximum vegetative and productive capacity and plant self-defense throughout the cycle.
In the case of bacterial (including Clavibacter), fungal, and viral attacks, an additional foliar treatment with 1000 ml per hectare of BioAksxter® M31 Agriculture slows disease progression and prevents its spread to healthy plants.
This treatment is particularly recommended because it further enhances plant activity, can be performed during harvest, requires no special precautions for the operator, and does not interfere with beneficial insect activity.
