Lamburda
The lamburda is a typical formation found in pome fruit trees (e.g., apple and pear) with a length ranging from 1 to 4 cm.
The apical bud is capable of producing only minimal vegetative growth of a few millimeters per year or, in some cases, may give rise to short shoots (brindilli). In apple trees, so-called spur varieties primarily bear fruit on lamburde.
