Farm logbook
The farm logbook is a tool that allows one to note down all the operations carried out in the field, from pre-sowing/transplanting to the end of the cultivation and post-harvest cycle. Basically, it represents a real cultivation diary and a precise list of all the practices adopted in the field: from soil preparation to the use of technical means, irrigation, etc.
It is good practice to update the crop notebook correctly and constantly so that it is a useful tool for evaluating the choices made and the techniques used, comparing the results obtained with previous years at the end of the season.
An integral and fundamental part of the campaign notebook is the treatment logbook. This document serves to record the line of phytosanitary defence implemented, with products and dosages used. Its compilation is compulsory for farms and is regulated by Legislative Decree no. 150/2012, which requires the following data to be entered
- varieties cultivated and total surface area of the crop
- date on which the treatment was carried out
- plant protection product used
- total quantity used and surface area treated
- disease occurrence in the field (for which the product must be registered)
- approximate dates of sowing/transplanting, start of flowering and harvesting
- signature of the person who used the product
