Fruit thinning
Thinning is an agronomic practice aimed at reducing the number of fruits per plant to improve fruit size and/or bud differentiation for the following year. However, thinning is a source of stress for the plant.
Thinning can be manual, chemical, or mechanical. Excessive thinning leads to excessive vegetative vigor, while insufficient thinning negatively affects fruit size and ripening, compromising bud formation for the next season and promoting biennial bearing. Both mechanical and chemical thinning always cause plant stress.
With BioAksxter®, the stress induced by thinning is significantly reduced. In case of thinning errors, BioAksxter®'s balancing action prevents vegetative-productive imbalances, reducing fruit waste by minimizing non-marketable and undersized produce.
